I've always been told that when you walk into a house, people judge you based on the aroma that lingers around the front door. Of course most people light a few candles for decoration, but the thought of lighting a candle for simply the smell of it may shock some people. A human's sense of smell is one of the strongest senses throughout the human system. Our brain's allow us to recognize sweet and sour scents and of course process the memory that lies with it, but how can that effect a home? Well, when someone walks into your home and it smells like the dumster they parked by at a restaurant the night before, I am not sure that it will give off the best first impression for your home. People like to smell welcome scents or scents that are often associated with the holidays. Personally, if I walk into a house and it smells like pumpkins and cinnamon....I'm gonna want to sit on that couch all day long. However if they entire house reeks while I am trying to look at it, it will cause me to rush overlook the details that could be beneficial to the seller and cause me to move on to my next option. Scent is the way to go!
