It has been proven in psychological studies that your closet can often times illustrate the many emotions and mental states that the human mind can encounter. If your looking to straighten up your closet and get rid of the clutter, we are happy to provide a few suggestions!!
Hold a ONCE A YEAR fashion show: Of course you can be the only one to attend, if you'd like. However, go through all of your clothing items and try on outfits and items to test how well they fit you. When trying on outfits you may even want to categorize them by seasons, or events, or places. For example, one outfit can be for summer, or a party, or work...etc. Make a list of your categories and it can help you narrow down your options for vacations and things like that.
Toss miss-matched hangers: All of the different shapes and irregular sizes of hangers can take up more room in your closet. Wire hangers are very harsh on your clothes so try different brands and stay consistent.
Keep your clothes stored by outfit: If your not a fan of color-coding, or season-coding, try storing your clothes based on how you wear them. Perhaps a light pink cardigan with a white tank top and matching black or khaki slacks. This could aid in your decision-making process in the mornings and may even save you a few minutes before work. Once you've worn an outfit, turn the set of hangers the other direction and it can help you identify which outfits you haven't worn yet! It saves the repetition in your outfits throughout the year!
Even if your closet stays chaotic, these few tips can help save you a few minutes in the morning. You could even purchase a small hook that allows you to hang your selected outfit on your closet door, the night before.
